Alisson: Record Hero at Flamengo

Alisson Becker has become a record hero for Flamengo in the Brazilian Serie A, after saving two penalties during the team's Copa Libertadores campaign.

The goalkeeper was one of the key figures for Flamengo as they advanced to the quarter-finals of the competition with a penalty shootout win against River Plate on Tuesday night.

Flamengo were down 1-0 after the first leg but Alisson saved both penalties from River Plate's Sergio Destro and Pablo Martinez in the shoot-out to secure a 2-2 draw.

The goalkeeping heroics helped Flamengo reach their first ever Copa Libertadores final, where they will face Boca Juniors in the second leg next week.

Alisson is known for his impressive saves and his calmness under pressure, which have made him one of the best goalkeepers in Brazil.

He was born in Portugal but moved to Brazil when he was just three years old and began playing for Flamengo's youth academy.
