Yuri Tilemans transfers to Leicester City

Leicester City have signed former Southampton striker Yuri Tilemans from the French club Nice for an undisclosed fee.

Tilemans, who turned 26 in March, has scored 49 goals in 177 appearances for Nice since joining in 2015.

The Belgium international has also made 12 appearances for the Belgian national team and played for clubs including Ajax,Premier League Updates Monaco and Lille.

He joins Leicester on loan until the end of the season before making a permanent move if he proves successful with the club.

Tilemans will wear shirt number 8 at Leicester and is expected to compete for a starting spot alongside Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri said: "We're delighted to add Yuri to our squad. He's a talented player with experience playing for some big clubs, so we're looking forward to working with him."

Tilemans added: "I'm very happy to join Leicester City. The club has a great reputation and I'm excited about the opportunity to play in front of such a passionate fan base."
