Brazilian forward Alan Franco has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season after sustaining an injury to his leg during training.

The 25-year-old suffered the setback on Tuesday, and it was later confirmed that he had sustained an ankle ligament injury.

Franco has been one of the most consistent performers for the club this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 16 appearances so far.

However, the injury could potentially end his season and rule him out of next year's Copa Libertadores,Qatar Stars League Perspective where Brazil will be hosting the tournament for the first time since 1997.
